PRIVATE INDUSTRY AWARDED FOR AEROSPACE HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT
This company, Aero Accessories and Systems Private Limited (AASPL) located on Old Airport. Road in Bangalore,has designed,developed,tested and certifiedMain and Nose LandingGear Actuators for the prestigious civil aircraft designed and developed for the first time in country. This NAL designed SARAS aircraft was upgraded from first prototype of 14 seater capacity to second prototype to be of 18 seater capacity. For this new requirement, the imported Landing Gear Actuators used in first prototype were not designed and were not suitable to withstand the
increased weight and load requirement of 18 seater second prototype. Aero Accessories and Systems Private Limited undertook this challenge and within the same envelope, has designed, developed and certified through Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) these actuators. They have also manufactured and delivered two (2) aircraft sets of flight worthy units to requirement of NAL and are being flown with these aircraft.
The efforts of this organization have been recognized by the entire aerospace community of this country and AASPL has been conferred with the Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies and Industries(SIATI)award for "Excellence in AerospaceIndigenization -' 2008" by the Board of Trustees of SIATI which includes top executives of organizations like VSSC, ISRO, HAL, NAL, ADA, CEMILAC, D.Aero, DGCA etc. This award was received by the Managing Director of AASPL Mr. SKB Parekh at the "SIATI's 15thAnnual Techno Summit" during the Aero India- 2009, in Bangalore on February 14, 2009. Mr. SKB Parekh was accompanied, during this function, by his two co-founder Directors, Mr.. K.V. Sreevatsan and Mr. E.S. Francis. All these three promoter directors have superannuated as General Managers' after spending an illustrious
career in HAL.
AASPL is also developing products like Generators, Alternators, Motors and Electromechanical Actuators for Indian Army. Navy and Air Force requirements in line with the need and necessity projected from Ministry of Defence on role of private sector in the transformation of Indian Defence industry. This company, with its vast experience and knowledge in HAL and making use of the existing manufacturing and support facilities with analytic inputs taken from educational institutions, have been recognized as a private sector player. The AASPL promoters are quite confident of playing a major role in defence offset programmes in years to come using similar methodology.
